InnSpire 2011 – Celebrating 20 Years

The goal of the 2011 InnSpire CABBI conference is education and celebration! Educating the California Bed & Breakfast innkeeper has always been a top priority for CABBI. 2011's conference workshops will focus on marketing, operations and technology with sessions for beginners and advanced levels.

This year’s InnSpire conference will be held at the San Diego Marriott Mission Valley. Conference attendees will enjoy the resort style setting, rooms each with a balcony or patio and breath-taking views. Make time to enjoy the hotel’s beautiful modern and hip heated outdoor pool. Plan to come to the conference early or stay late to enjoy all that San Diego offers; such as the World Famous San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Historic Old Town and Balboa Park.

Aspiring Innkeepers

Interested in buying and running your own inn? Innkeeping As a Profession will be held, Saturday, January 29 – Sunday January 30, 2011. This two-day workshop provides you a behind-the- scenes look into the innkeeping lifestyle. Sessions include: Finding the perfect inn, financing, marketing, operations and more. You get to ask veteran innkeepers your toughest questions, as well as and attend the InnSpire opening reception and trade show.

Tuesday, February 1, 2011 Innkeepers Luncheon

Larry Broughton, Founder and President of Broughton Hospitality is scheduled be the keynote speaker at Tuesday’s Innkeepers Luncheon at the InnSpire Conference. Larry is the author of three books: The first is called "Leadership Lessons From A Green Beret." The second book, already receiving nation-wide attention, is called "Warriors in the Boardroom." And the third book is called "Student Action Guide to Unconventional Leadership." Larry’s hotel group boasts many unique and stylish boutiques and inn type properties. Larry is a dynamitic energetic speaker who will provide us with an upbeat and inspirational keynote presentation. His unique and moving stories of triumph and tragedy, business success, leadership principles, and his path towards significance will leave you with practical tips and teaching points, and energized to take action.

CABBI is celebrating its 20th Anniversary!

In February 1991, there was a pair of splintered Bed & Breakfast organizations residing within the golden state. Don Martine of the Martine Inn in Pacific Grove suggested the upstart of a new unified association that was inclusive of all B&B Inns within the state and CABBI was born.

California innkeepers spoke of "desperately wanting" inn-to-inn networking, education about innkeeping, and a collective way to publicize individual Bed & Breakfast Inns. CABBI was designed to meet these needs and the InnSpire Conference began. Join us at InnSpire 2011 for a special dinner celebration on Monday, January 31, 2011 at the San Diego Mission Valley Marriott.

Mix business with pleasure. Come early… stay late! San Diego is beautiful and has much to see and do. The world famous San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park are just the beginning. Sea World, Old Town, Seaport Village, Balboa Park, beautiful beaches and coast lines await you all with very close proximity to the Marriott Mission Valley. You are also very close to the Mexican border if you would like to take a day trip into Mexico, it is easy to do.
